Friday = classic live vid day

By unpodizucchero

With Zucchero reliving his past studio-successes on the All the Best album, we figured it would be nice to spend some time each week looking at some amazing live performances from the past.

How about this version of Madre Dolcissima during one of the last dates of the 1989 Oro, Incenso e Birra tour in Rome – during which Zucchero was joined on stage by Eric Clapton, Paul Young, Clarence Clemmons and Dee Dee Bridgewater. This vid showcases the tight band that backed Zucchero during those days, as well as show that David Sancious plays a mean guitar and Lisa Hunt is the queen of soul.

Slightly more subdued, but exceptional nonetheless, is this 2005 version of Cosi Celeste performed by Zucchero and Queen’s Brian May during the 46664 concert in Norway. May, a long time friend and fan of Zucchero, wrote a new beautiful English translation of the lyrics especially for this show. The band also includes Sharon Corr on violin.
